Cadillac Baby
How that woman loves to ride
Yeah, Cadillac Baby
How that woman loves to ride
She’s crazy ’bout that hydromatic
Cause its such an easy ride
She loves her rollin, how she loves to ball the jack
Crazy bout her rollin, how she loves to ball the jack
She’s crazy about that easy ridin, crazy bout that CadillacTurn on the radio and cruise on down
The avenue
Yeah, turn on the radio and cruise on
Down the avenue
She’s crazy about my caddy
And I ‘m crazy for my baby too
Well, long about midnight she came
Knockin on my door
Yeah, long about midnight she came
Knockin’ on my door
Gotta take out that caddy
Baby wants to ride some more
Yeah at night we went riding
Riding in the rain
She was my baby
And I was her man
She said honey ride a long long time
You rock so easy, so mellow and fine
If you get tired of ridin, give yourself a rest
Park it in the spot that your baby loves the best
Cadillac baby
How that woman loves to ride
Yeah cadillac baby
How that woman loves to ride
Crazy bout that easy ridin’
How she loves that cadillac
Go
Let it Roll
I gotta Roll
All night long
Gotta Roll
All night long
Yes we gotta roll pretty darlin’
Roll all night long

Now What?

Untitled design (16)

Congratulations!  Remembering that day (Graduation) makes me smile… It was full of excitement!  The air was easy to breathe and the genie was fulfilling my every wish.  I laughed, dance and celebrated with family and friends and opened all the gifts…amazed at how thoughtful people were with their gift selection  (especially the ones in the envelope).

Feeling grateful and motivated was the order of the day, in fact that feeling lasted a few days…weeks even. Then reality set in …expectations were different; and I felt it.

Now what?

Move out of my parents home, buy a car and live the singles life (urban style)! I wanted it to happen, quick…Realizing the obvious, I knew the entry-level job that I was in wasn’t going to meet the bill. The work-study job was over and the designer things I purchased with my gift cards began to feel like a dumb thing to do. I immediately did the math…basic expenses plus recreation left me in deficit mode… additional income is what I wanted, needed – Now!

The fact that I graduated really meant my support system had changed drastically. I had decisions to make and soon…After-all, I dreamed about this time for many years and I wasn’t about to give up my “urban lifestyle” dream…So the search was on!

Find a better job, work overtime were the first options I thought of and exactly what I did; however having my own business was always my dream and finally years later, I’m a business owner.  I share this story to encourage you to follow your dream Now! It’s your time, embrace it! Do You!

Just beautiful, had to share!

Mind Over Motor

Due to the phrase “Fabulous Fifties”, everyone seems to think that all cars sold in America during the first full decade after World War II had loud paint, snarling V8 engines, towering tail fins, and lashings of insane chrome. The opposite, in fact, was true, especially in the years preceding 1955. In fact, most cars were notably understated, and still used muted colors and drab interior schemes as the cost was lower. Of course, a Packard could be drab in color and muted in trim, but the cost would most certainly not be low. This Patrician 400, looking quite stately in black, has a custom interior designed by Dorothy Draper, so the interior was not “drab”. Packard offered this series as its flagship in 1951, and 9,001 orders were taken–mostly in black. It’s not as flashy or as obvious as the equivalent Cadillac or Lincoln of the period, but…

Car Care Tips for Smart Women
How much do women really know about what’s under the hood of their car—and, the care needed? Here are a few ideas to keep your car running safely and smoothly for years to come:

  1. Create a preventive maintenance checklist
Topping off fluid levels, inspecting belts, hoses and tire pressure, changing engine oil and making sure all the lights work should be done regularly by a car care professional.
  2. Check your engine air filter
The engine air filter is the car’s lung. Check your owner’s manual to see when it should be changed to make sure your car is breathing clearly.
  3. Check your engine oil and filter
Engine oil is the car’s lifeblood. Check your oil level often. Also check the owner’s manual for when to replace the oil and which grade to use.
  4. Know how to check tire pressure and change a tire
A flat tire is never entertaining. Learning how to change it yourself can save lots of time. Ask your car care professional to show you how. Make sure your tires have the correct tire pressure. You can find it in the vehicle owner’s manual or on a decal in the door jamb or glove compartment. While you’re at it, inspect and fill the spare tire.
  5. Control gas consumption
Obeying the speed limit, making sure your tires are properly inflated, removing extra weight from the back seat and trunk all improve your gas mileage.
  6. Check, clean and replace worn wiper blades
Wiper blades should be changed about every six months. Check for cracks regularly and use a wet paper towel to clean the blades.
  7. In case of emergency
Make sure you have a vehicle emergency kit. Bottled water, a flashlight, flares, duct tape, an extra cell phone and charger, energy bars, a blanket, phone number for roadside assistance and a can of Fix-a-Flat would be smart options.
  8. Three resources to keep you smart:
    1. Download the Car Care Guide from carcare.org

Protect and Prevent
Protect and Prevent

I took this photo at an event because it is beautiful. I don’t know the owner but I’d bet he was close by…

A recent visit to http://www.safercar.gov revealed an infographic that will bring you up to speed on the vehicle theft problem in the U.S today.  When I think about how important my vehicle is to me and realize the implications of facts listed below I had to share…

Do You Know:

  • Nearly half of vehicle theft is due to driver error.
  • The top two months for vehicle thefts are July and August.
  • There were nearly 700,000 vehicles reported stolen in the United States in 2013.
  • Nearly 45% of stolen vehicles are never recovered.

Click the link to see more facts that will influence your decision to do more to prevent your vehicle from becoming a statistic!
